Just installed the edge with attitude. Stock intake, muffler removed. no tranny mods. Basically running edge with no muffler. won't go higher than level 2 as of yet. This is my first diesel and I have been driving it about 3 months. I have never driven a chipped diesel before, and this thing is INSANE. W/O going over level 2 do I need to beef up the tranny, or will the stock allison handle it? (according to the instructions that came w/ the edge, level2 is fine for stock alli and level 3 is pushing it if used sparingly, 4 and 5 are out of the question) I drove around on level 2 for about 10 minutes and did 2 0-60 runs (one in stock, one in level2 8.8 and 8.1 resp.) tranny temp never went above 125. outside temp high 40's. doesn't look to be a problem, but summer temps can reach high 110's here in vegas. I appreciate any input.

Level 3 which is 75hp 220lbft tq. That's what I've been running on. I started out on 2 and went up to 3. I've run 5 a couple of times and 4 once. I defuel on all shifts to help protect the tranny (all juice levels). Good luck and enjoy. :ro)

Don't worry, it won't be long before that little voice in your head is telling you to bump up to levels 3 and 4. Next thing you know you'll be running level 5 and low boost level 5. I also said I wouldn't go past 2......until I saw a Stroker pull up beside me in the left lane...

I run all levels all the time. No problems. Have fun.

Hired Gun,
Are you running all levels on a stock transmission?

BTW, I was playing around with the low boost feuling setting today. Level 5 is pretty nice. Gets it off the line way better than stock. It does make a little bit of smoke though. A mitsu eclipse got stuck behind me and caught the full wrath of the diesel smoke. He got in the other lane to pass me so I gave it WOT on level 2 and left him in the dust:D . THis thing could really get me in trouble if I am not careful.

Sadly it looks like yet another diesel owner has succumbed to the "Diesel Pushers" on this site. :o: Tinman, pay off one of your credit cards so you can start purchasing mods, don't fight it, it is hopeless! ):h JJ :)

Before i got my tranny upgraded I ran it mostly off, but I did some boosted launches in 4X4 on level 5, basically when I ran it was on level 5. I ran it for almost eight months that way. When I got the tranny done the c3s were the only ones that were discolored at all (and that was barely noticeable) and I even limped it once. You know that a 21 year old isn't going to be the easiest on the tranny.
