Check out Fold-A-Cover. I put one on my truck the same day I got the spray in bed liner. It is Exactly the same one as in the brochure. As i recall, for my long bet it was right at 600 dollars delivered, well actually I got it from a local dealer. Took me about 1/2 a day to install and adjust correctly. Only need extra hands to lift the cover itself inplace after the rails are set. Personally, I think it is perfect for what I want. Neat thing is that it folds up into quarters against the cab, so you only loose about 6 feet of bed with it installed. Once it is in place you can remove it by simply removing a couple of screws and lifting off, thereby giving full access to the bed. In place, you can hardly see it on the truck. As I remember, they only come in black, but they can be painted to match:)

I have a fold-a-cover and love it. It works great, and is actually almost waterproof. I've run it through the car wash numerous times now, and the only leak is a lil spot on the drivers side by the tailgate.

I think it's the same cover if you ordered it from GM. In fact mine had a gm part # on the box.

I Have the hard cover on mine. Ordered it with the truck. As soon as I figure out how to send photos I will post a couple. The only draw back I have is you can't completely remove it without removing 2 bolts. Although Its very simple to do.

The cover is watertight so far been through 100 year floods out here this year and no leaks. I like the fit and it mounts without drilling any holes.
With the cover closed the tailgate cannot be opened. I am sure if I pulled hard enough I could get it open but it keeps the honest ones out.
I like the folding capabilites over a hard fiberglass shell its lighter than the fiberglass too.
I have had lots of compliments on the cover and would recommend one to anyone.
I think the MSRP is about $1000 but you can deal on the price if not check out the other post for aftermarket they sound like the same cover.
I opted for the factory for insurance reasons (cover would be included in any claims) and you get the factory warranty bumper to bumper.

I went with K-covers. It's by the guy that started fold-a-cover but is easily removed if you need to haul without it. It's a bit cheaper as well. I've had it through the Northern California torrents this year with no leakage. It's also had snow piled on it to the top of the cab without any issue.

Send Pic's!:help2:There are many manufactures that make hard covers for you truck. I hvae an A.R.E LSII lid , carpeted and keyless entry on it and it conforms to my 04.5 Ram 2500 HD T600 Diesel 325/600 Sport QC 4x4... and it doesn't look chinsey:ro)

Another vote for the Fold-A-Cover, or at least the one that is handled by the Chevy dealerships. Mine is absolutely waterproof and fits my needs perfectly.

What is a normal price for a retrax cover? I have an '05 Sierra 2500HD crew cab short bed.

I have an undercover on mine. I like the lightweight and easy removal. supposed to only weigh like 80 pounds. Because it has a lip on it you don't need a locking tailgate. The only thing I don't like about it is when it frosts over it gets slicker than snot.Censoredhope you find what you are looking for.:grd:Sorry no good pictures of the cover.

I have a K-Cover on mine. I had the GM (whomever makes is I don't know) version on my 2K 1500. It was OK but harder to install and didn't have the latching mechanisms that the K-cover has. Plus the K-cover is considerably cheaper.

I've had a Fold-A-Cover since I bought my '99 Silverado new. I moved it to my 6.0 2500 HD, then to the Duramax. I've had soft tonneaus in the past, as well as hard fiberglass painted to match lids, and for the price, nothing compares to the Fold-A-Cover. The kids have stood on it, put lawn chairs on it to watch events, and it's stood up to me (215 pounds) standing on it. The original got damaged in a severe wind storm (wrapped over the D-max cab), so I bought a new one for under six shipped. PM me if you want the vendor's info.

My dealer has a demo of the Undercover and it look spretty nice. I did not have time to ask the price, but I did get the web address: www.undercoverinfo.com (http://www.undercoverinfo.com)

How hard is it to take out the Fold-a-cover? I have a ATV rack that goes in the bed so I will need to take the entire cover off 5-6 times a summer.

Does anybody have a link for the K-cover?
