charles hays 02-01-2005, 04:45 PM will the transgo shift kit, along with new stock clutches hold 500rwhp?

Got Juice? 02-01-2005, 04:50 PM Not with any amount of towing or high boost launches.... mine did not.
400RWHP, 425 RWHP... should be ok.
500 or over, Suncoast3, ATS, or DTT would be your best $ Spent.
My Transgo and T/C Lasted 6 months before it failed at 500RWHP.... maybe 2 passes down the 1320, but i also tow a lot. Around the 400RWHP. Your Mileage may vary.
Mike L. 02-01-2005, 05:54 PM Nicks held pretty well. I think a Transgo s/k with a big converter and some blueprinting will hold 500 hp. I am running Raybestos clutches which are equal to stock,Transgo s/k, and a TTS extreme program right now for testing. If you are going to race it, then you will need more for longevety.

1bad01 02-01-2005, 06:11 PM So in my case with just the hot juice, the transgo alone will hold level 5? From what I read that is about 400rwhp. If that is so that would be great cause I don't plan on adding any more power to this truck anytime soon, so a suncoast 3 seems to be over kill for me even though I would love to have one.
charles hays 02-01-2005, 06:23 PM i am for sure going to go to
a big converter.:ro) still confused on which one.-:t just wanted to make
sure the clutches would work while i am in there,if not i was going to upgrade there also.:ro) got juice do you think your converer could have failed
causing the tranny to fail? just guessing not a tranny tech by no means.
just want to spend the money in the right places the first time.because this is a costly build up.:exactly:
thanx,
chays
p.s. i think there are alot of others at the same place i am at at this point.:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

Charles, The Same DTT Dingle Disc Convertor that was installed with the Transgo Kit has been in my DTT Stage 1 Transmission .
DTT will leave consumers the choice of what convertor you ultimately decide is best for you.
My DTT Single Disc has held up to a lot of abuse, both on the track and towing heavy.
I Must reiterate that convertor choice is your preference.... this is not a single disc vs 3 disc discussion at all. A lot of members are running triples and some are running singles. Unless you did a hot swap of trannies and convertors on your truck, who am I to tell anyone what is or is not right for them?
That said, I am very pleased with the performance of my single disc.
Mike L. 02-01-2005, 06:50 PM Remember guys if you drive hard on a regular basis Suncoast Level 3 is good insurance. I have customers that just wanted the minimum because they were not going to race and pull, then guess what? We had to go back into the Ally for stonger updates. How many times do you want to do this?
1bad01 02-01-2005, 07:03 PM I would love to have a level 3 but $3500 is tough to swallow. But I would really like to be able to run my truck on level 5 on the juice with no worries.
dmaxalliTech 02-01-2005, 11:37 PM I gotta go with Mike L on this..
I can say that my truck with transgo and stock converter would hold the big VA, converter didnt like it, but trans never limped. When I tore it down, the c3's were burnt. Proper clearance in the trans are just as important as the parts you put in so a carefull build will help.
Diesel Power 02-02-2005, 04:32 AM i ran the transgo and tts single for 25k hard miles.. was fine went i went for the new converter...
charles hays 02-02-2005, 08:58 AM i ran the transgo and tts single for 25k hard miles.. was fine went i went for the new converter...did you see any improvements in performance <track e.t. wize>with
the triple over the single?pros and cons of both at that level?:ro) :help2:
sorry for the book:blahblah: but i am not able to drive my truck.
so i am ready to up-grade .:exactly:
thanx,
chays
Mike L. 02-02-2005, 10:20 AM I don't think Nick realized any better performance with a multiplate over a single , but we know he has much stronger coupling between the engine and the trans under the high horsepower he is running. I installed a Suncoast Level 3 clutch pack in his Ally along with the TTS multi plate converter and did a couple of other things.

Blinky 02-02-2005, 11:33 AM When I went to upgrade all I heard was "overbuild, overbuild, overbuild, over..... etc.
Lokking back now... it's a good thing I listened......
Thanks again Mike.....:hail:
