I've searched and can't any find posts with anyone facing the following:

Model: 06, 2WD approx. 30,000 KM

Every couple of days it become hard to shift and escilates to the point
where if stopped in 2nd gear you can feel the clutch dragging and the
truck moves forward when the brakes are released and while driving I
might as well drive without using the clutch at all. If the truck idles in
neutral for a while or is turned off the issue disappears and all is fine for a
while. It does not seem to be temp. sensitive as it can occur while driving
or at start up.

I have brought it to the dealer a few times and have been told they can
not reporduce the issue. I have tried bring it in when it happens and by
the time the service tech comes out everything is fine.

If I were to guess it feels like either the Master of the Slave cylinders are
going but I can't be sure. So far, I do not seem to have any of the
posted DMF issues or rattles. Based on the service history it has already
had a clutch actuator replaced under warranty.

Anybody have any ideas its really driving me nuts. I only bought this truck
a few months ago and race season is coming and I'm going to need
to start hauling a trailer around.

Thanks for your help,

Mike

Your slave is either taking a crap of you have air in the line. We had this issue temporarely after installing my SBC. Went away after driving it a bit.

Call a differen't dealer tell them the problem & explain you need the service manager to go for a ride with you as soon as you get ther to duplicate the problem. If this doesn,t work, call customer service. You probly wont get anywhere with them but it will be on file. If you go elsewhere to get it fixed then take all your paper work to a lemon law attorney.

Thanks for the feedback.

If I wasn't attempting to get this fixed under warranty I would have the
slave and clutch inspected and potentially replaced.

I have already spoken to customer service and was advised that a GM
service tech must experience the issue in order to take warranty action.
Given the stange nature I just can't seem to get a Tech in the truck
quick enoungh.

I have spent just way to much time on this issue. I plan to leave it with
a dealer and let them drive it till it happens. I don't know whet else to do
without going out of pocket.

Thanks again,

Mike

Well, at that point, there's only three things it can be.

1) Clutch Slave - most likely
2) Clutch Master Cylinder
3) Hairline crack in the line that runs between the two.

In any event, they all lead to air in the system which ruins the hydraulic idea of the system in the first place...and when you press down your pedal, the air in the line is compressed before the fluid is moved, in the end resulting in less clutch fork movement - hence why your clutch is still engaged at a light in 2nd gear. Hope this helps. ??

Just a quick follow up.

After dropping the truck to the deal and leaving it there until they experience the issue. I received the truck back today (1.5 weeks later)
with a new Clutch actuator, Pressure Plate and Clutch.

The truck shifts like a dream.

Thanks for everyones feedback.

So, they replaced 3 things to fix the problem.

Did they say which part caused the actual problem? Or was it a combination of all three?

Before they opened it up they felt that the Clutch actuator wasn't
holding presure. Once they got in there there was also an issue with the
clutch (details were not provided)

I did notice one additional thing, since I purchased the truck used it had a
strange rattle (similar to a loose heat sheild)under decelleration at 1100 -
1600 RPM. After checking all the shields under the truck it seemed to come
from the bellhousing. That is now gone.

I have that rattle I think.
