I just wanted to see how many of you are running fingers sticks vs just unplugging the EGR .

Me... EGR still there and pluged in. But that might change.

I've got a 4" exhaust, minus kitty and a bullet muffler = not enough back pressure for EGR to work. Installed Finger stick and all is well, can't thank him enough for making these for us.

This is a confusing poll  Don't quite know what info it is that you are looking for because the Fingers Stick really has little to do with the EGR mod. There are people here who may have the Stick installed but no EGR mod. They are using the stick to keep from throwing DTC's & SES lights on larger exhaust install's. Others have the EGR blocker plate installed with no Stick. They will prolly be getting the same results as those who unplugged but will be throwing codes as will those who have only unplugged.

Maybe I am confused .. dont you use the Fingers sticks to basically stop the EGR from functioning?? hence no codes?? Basically I want to kill my EGR but my current dealer is a PITA and claims to want to void warrenty for anything (including cat back exhaust). So I am sure if they see a cut wiring harness and a new device in place they will have a cow..

No - the Stick only keeps the ECM happy and prevents the SES light from coming on and from DTC codes from being thrown when an EGR or exhaust mod is done.

If your dealer is giving you crap about a cat back exhaust....find a new dealer who is more deserving of your business.

I would ask your dealer nicely on what grounds would it void your warrenty for cat back exhaust.

Well the old "Very understanding" service manager quit.. Now the new guy is like the "New Sherif" in town.. Only completely stock trucks get warrenty. See if they get my buss for my wifes new car/truck in about 6-12 months :D

i hear all this talk about eliminating the EGR, but what gains does this do for you....can you just unplug it and let the codes get thrown?

I installed stick because 1. Blocker plate installed 2. Complete 4" MBRP turbo down-pipe back(nocat) 3. Afe intake . Result= No Codes, ECM is happy, I am happy.

Just curious about a couple things. I disconnected my EGR a couple months back and the SES light has stayed on ever since. I have a California truck. Will the Fingers stick and block-off plate fix my problem and turn off the friggin light.

Thanks in advance
Rich.

Fingers Stick will eliminate SES light and codes, block-off plate will keep soot out of intake.

also, you would ahve to plug the egr back in for the stick to work. but since the blocker plate, that you will install, will be in, then you don't need it unplugged anymore.
