I got a weatherguard toolbox a couple months ago and the damn thing just keeps getting more and more squeaky. I realize my 35's don't exactly help the situation, being procomp mud terrains and all....

Anything I can do to stop this squeaking???

well that is bad news for me :( i just bought one and love it so far. But if it squeeks ill give it away! Hope you can figure it out. Just a thought try greasing the seals and make sure the mounting bolts are tight

Do you have the rubber isolation pads under the box where it meets the truck bed/back rack? I don't have any other advice for you, mine is silent (and I don't have the rubber pads installed).

It's in the lid I believe. I'm gonna try silicon on the seals... just looking for others who have the same problem.. It didn't do it for the first couple weeks.

They're too damn expensive to give away!

I do have them installed, but I don't think that's where the problem is. I guess I could remove them since I have an over the rail spray-on bedliner

i have the low profile version of that box. It comes with 2 rubber pads its supposed to rest on but i chucked those in the garbage can. Because i have a rhino liner over the rail. I fugured that was enough rubber for it to rest on. If i didnt have the liner i woulda used the rubber pieces. Im am actually impressed with the quality of this box, thats why i bought it. Ive had many cheap ones and they would last a year or two before they fell apart.
Oh and on a side note mine has a clear coat on it so just was and be careful. DO NOT detail this box with the usual acid method.
Hope greasing the seals works for ya try that sicilone based stuff so you dont get greese all over ya while reaching in.

Found the squeak, finally.. after messing with it for an hour, and removing the rubber pads (I have a rhino liner also, this didn't help much), I found the squeak was actually from the toolbox rubbing against the rhino liner in the front of the toolbox. I moved it back, leaving 1/2" gap and NO MORE SQUEAKING!!!

These do seem to be very well built toolboxes, excellent hinge system, locks, etc... just glad mine doesn't squeak like crazy any more!
