Does anyone run the Cooper Discoverer STT's? Or would happen to know anything about them?

I did some searching on line with ratings.. It showed that are very aggressive tread and the in wet weather the traction is not to good.

Looks like a better off road mud tire then street imo.

Thanks for the info. I farm so they would probably get more off road driving than on road. Being im always pulling a trailer and what not.

What would you recommend for on road/ pulling? or whats had the best results?

I ran them for a while. Very good tire on and off road. Best radial I've run in mud :D. The D-Max was a bit tough on them but I'd sure buy them again.

I work for Cooper and also run STTs on my 4WD S10 and ATRs on my 2005 DMAX. The STTs are definitely better for offroad but they balance well and run okay on the highway, but have some road noise as with any mud tire. These are some of the best light truck tires we offer.

I run them in the winter. They are a very good tire in mud, ice, snow. I've never had issues in heavy rain. There is some road noise but not too bad really.

They are a soft rubber so if you run them year round they won't last long. I run mine about 5 months/year and have had the same set for 3 winters now. equals about 15,000 miles. I'd say they are not quite about half gone.

I've had 2 sets of the ATR's on my suburban. I really like the STT's, my father in law has 'em. I was going to get some but could not quite justify the aggressive tread so I went with the Goodyear workhorse. Mainly cause I only paid $350 for 4 from a friend of mine. and yes they were brand new.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Whats the prices you have been seeing on them? I've seen anywhere from $130 to $220 a tire.

I runn the STT's and was impressed. Great traction in mud, snow, and one of the quietest mud tire's I ever ran on the road. Just make sure that you rotate them regular I did'nt and the fronts wore kwik. The backs look great after 2 1/2 years. I woild get them again.

I paid $168 a tire in 265/75-16 mounted, balanced, new stems

I ran them on my Hemi Durango and I now have them on my Duramax, excellent tire, they are NOT soft, quieter than you think, they wear better than any of the 3 sets of BFG KO's that I ran in the past, great all around tire and E rated, if you dont need an E rated tire or dont tow check out the ATR line of Coopers.

That's good to know. My 285"s were D rated but I'm thinking 265"s may save me some fuel .

I've been seeing them right around the $168 range more then any other. Which i don't think is bad at all for the tire you get.

I think youd like them Evan. I think Im gonna get a set for my stock wheels next fall for winter tires. Maybe you could run them in the back and a different type in the front :D haha

My best friend ran the STT's on his 2007 F-250 and them things don't last, but then again its his farm truck which pulls a lot of heavy loads and he never rotates them. I personally had a set of Cooper ATR size 315 on my dodge and I loved them on and offroad on the farm. I only got the Toyo's on my Duramax because the tire place in my town gave me a steal deal on them.

Thanks again for all the info. Now what does anyone think about the Dayton Timberlines?

I run the Coops on my Tacoma (DD and occasional wheeler, mostly rockcrawling) and the tires are great offroad. They're still pretty good on the pavement. They're not super loud, and for a mud tire they grip relaly well, especially in the rain. I'd buy them again, but they're so expensive. I'm expecting about 40k miles out of them. When I do the solid axle on my truck, I'll be going to Micky T's MTZ's, which I've heard good things about.

The sidewalls on the coops are very tough too. I can attest to this!

Haven't really heard anything about the Daytons, but just on the looks of it, the coops would spank it on the pavement department.
