After reading D.Camilleri's threads, I decided to look for a Cummins. Yesterday I traded my Honda FL350R Odyssey, 6.2 and related turbo stuff for a low mile 1996 6BT from a burned UPS truck. The engine has 1997 Dodge Ram auto trans pump and injectors. I also got a NV4500HD that was replaced for some unknown reason. I brought home a 4bt adapter and flywheel to fit my GM bellhousing but he gets them back if I use the Dodge NV4500HD trans.

I have a 1984 6.2L engine in my 1986 Chev C30 dually with a 3 speed manual and a 4.56 rear end. I have wondered if a Cummins N/A engine would fit in it if or when my 6.2L engine wears out. I would prefer the N/A engine with the mechanical injection pump plus a manual transmission. Any ideas so I could store the info for possible future use? I have heard of a person in Moses Lake, Wash. that has a Cummins in a 1985 Chev pickup plus D.C. has one in his 1985 Burb so it must be possible.

I always say, "Given enough time and money, anything's possible!!" That's usually quickly followed by, "Why did I ever start this deal, anyway!" Just kidding, it'll work. I put a 3-53 Detroit in a '69 Chev 3/4T 2WD pickup once. Whew!
