Ok, I've got XM through an aux. receiver (Delphi Roadie or some crap...the forty dollar one @ Wal-Mart), and it gets it power through the cig lighter. In an endless battle against clutter and wires in my truck, I decided to hardwire the receiver to a power source and free up a cig lighter plug. So I cut the plug off the power cord, and wired the power to the radio by tapping the radio fuse in the driver's side fuse box (in cab), and grounded it, but it doesn't work now. It blinks when I hit the power button, but goes right back off. What's the deal?

Did you possibly reverse the wires? Is your ground a good ground?

You do know that XM receiver runs on 5 volts right? I hope you didn't try connect it to 12V without the transformer that is built into the plug that you cut off...
Also, there is a kit that XM sells that has all the pieces to splice into a 12V circuit, and it also connects directly to the antenna so that you don't have to try to tune an FM frequency to hear the XM. Best Buy / Jerkit City usually has them in stock. About $40 IIRC and it is a pretty clean installation. Used one on both my Trailblazer and my Camaro.
