My buddy just bought a new '05 Cummins 4x4 and would like some info as how to accomplish >500 RWHP on his truck? What do you Dodge gurus think? He does realize a beefed up Automatic is in order and probably twin turbos as well.

Any input appreciated! Thanks.

I would go with twins, TST, stacked with the TS RAMIFIER, small edm's. Or a big single, big edm's, TST, TS RAMIFIER, and maybe some nitrous just for fun.

Thanks for the info! But what is "edm"?

edm's are a type of injector. They are not out for the 05 yet though.

He'll also need an intercooler. The casing, or 'tanks' on the '05 are plastic. '03 and '04 are metal. When the boost gets over 40psi, the tanks have been blowing consistantly. I don't know of an aftermarked intercooler yet. I know some people purchased the '03/'04 intercooler and put it in the '05, but I have since then read a post on the TDR that the plastic one has superceded the '03/'04 replacement as well. Not sure what to tell you on this one, but it *will* be an issue.

He's going to have to get a new intercooler first. The 05's have plastic endtanks and have been failing with the stock turbo. There will be other options available soon though. Then he can get there with a bigger single or twins (the prefered method for sane egt's), a TST box, a pressure box, a pusher pump, and built tranny. EDM'ed injectors aren't necessary for 500hp but they help when you go past that level. Mine helped my fuel milage though and made a additional 30+hp.

"edm"?

electro discharge machening... more exact way of machening the holes in the injector nozzle...[vs drilling them]
