What's a used 6.2 worth? What's a used NV4500 worth. Would I be better off to look for the components separetly or look for a wrecked one with eveything I need. Anyone have these components? Found a used GM Goodwrench engine w/ 80K. Wants $750. Sounds a little steep to me. What do you guys think?

$750 doesn't sound bad for a block with only 80k. flash $500 cash in his face and see how bad he really wants to sell it.

I would ask to pull the pan to check the bottom end for cracks in the mains before I forked out some big cash for any 6.2 or 6.5. I bought the engine that is in my sub right now running for 200 dollars. The nv4500 will go for different prices if the folks selling know what they have or not. I went up southern pa and bought one for around 350 then found another for 200 while trying to find a bellhousing. Had to combine those two trannys to build one good one.

The cheapest you can get parts is to buy trucks that arn't running and act like it's a take it or leave it deal. When someone asks too much, I usually say" I thought you wanted to sell it? And I'm always prepaired to walk away if a comprimise can't be reached. It's best to save your dollars for the new parts it will take to make it all work.
