If you had the edge attitude system installed and you had a mechanical problem I know you can take the edge out easily, but is there anyway the stealer could tell by running diognostics or a tear down of the engine that you were runnning juice.???:confused::confused::confused:

i know the pyrometer probe would be there, but would running an aftermarket EGT gauge cause them to say SORRY YOu MOFIFIED YOUR TRUCK,,,,

let me know,, thanks

Dont know for sure if this is true or not, but i heard that the tops of the pistons will have a small star on it from the extra fuel that is dumped in.:confused:
Has anybody else heard of this?

We have Stars Upon Thars.):h
I would think if it does put an indicating mark on the pistons and they are looking for somthing than they can make up any excuse to say you have altered the truck in some way. You would just have to fight them if this was not the case.

I'm pretty sure if they dug into the PCM they could see stored parameters that are out of the stock ranges, indicating the mods, likely you'd be stuck. Pay to play.....

Actually they are more like the letter "E" for Edge. Later! Frank

Yup they can tell if you got into the computer system if they dig into it. Iam really good friends with alot of people at our local dealership (some drinking buddys):h ) and they tell me they can tell if the computer was tampered with.

The connectors on my juice left rub marks on the intercooler tubes, a tech saw it and said with a smile "must have been a manufacturing problem".... anyway, if they want to, they can find evidence anywhere. I wouldn't get too wound up about it, just dont melt something.):h

hi guys...the edge is a chip on it's own that gives setting (timing and fuel) to the main computer,i don't think that the main computer is recording anything!!..once you pull the edge out thats it..nothing gets recorded except if you are ever in wreck there's a black box that records data(like speed,engine codes)..

We have a guy in our area that said he slid thru a stop sign, but the law pluged into his vehicle and it said that he did not even try to stop. Now he has charges against him as the person riding with him was killed. They did not say what he was driving so I can not say for sure that it was a truck like ours. I do know that some of the first to do that was some of the corvettes, & some buicks.

If they could tell, we would already have known it by now. They would be voiding warranties left and right.

Don't think the engine computer can tell when something like the edge is plugged in line BUT the tranny computer will be out of normal specs because it is trying to adjust for the new found horsepower and keeps those new adjustment's in it's memory which the dealer can see and figure out that something is up. But of course they have to go looking for it.

Not sure but that's what I've heard. Any one with a Tech2 and chip at home please check the tap cell's or any thing the tranny computer might record and confirm for us. :grd:
