I notice quite a few of you guys have Prodigy brake controls. Any comments on it? I have heard Jordan 2020 is a grade up, but not as compatable on GM products.

there are a few on here that run the jordan. the prodigy is OK, the newest out is the brakesmart. i went with the brakesmart and love it.

on edit, i will add that I have used the prodigy previously and had no problems, just upgraded to the brakesmart and like the features and the (hopefully) new features of EGT and boost coming this summer.

The Prodigy works very well. I've never been in a situation where the Prodigy has failed to provide the right amount of braking for the situation, including panic stops. There has been a long running debate between Jordan and Prodigy owners about which is best. Ski1 is probably right about the Brakesmart. Theoretically, because it gets its signal directly from the tow vehicle's braking system, it should (and no doubt does) outperform the others, though at a premium price.

I have been very happy with my Prodigy. It is not sensitive to mounting position so you can position it anywhere you want.

I upgraded to the BrakeSmart. This controller is very smooth, there is no pushing or pulling. The one great thing, in a panic stop, if you push 100% brake pedal, you get 100% trailer brake application in real time. No delay. It is $300+, but a small price to pay for safety.

Ok, I'm off of my soapbox.

I am on my second prodigy controller because I sold it with my last truck. I love it and think it is the best you can get for your money. I have never had any problems even with heavy loads it works great.

Jordan and Brakesmart are better choices, and the Jordan has a perfect location in 2WD GM trucks. In the dash, just to the left of the steering wheel (where the 4WD switch fits). I've got about 12K miles towing with the Jordan and this location works great. I have a picture of it at www.picturetrail.com/dayle1/

Prodigy for me. I haven't used the Jordan or Brakesmart, but the Prodigy is easy to install and works great for me. Never has there been a time when I wished I had a different controller. I tow my 15,300lb 5er and lots of other lighter stuff. I think you'll be more than satisfied with any of the above mentioned controllers.
