The first thing I have to do is replace those tires!! I would like to get 285s on it, But not sure if they will fit on the stock rims? Can anybody help?

You may want to replace rims and tires. Keep the stockers for when it needs to visit the dealer for repairs. The is a TSB about going to oversize tires. Look under the T.S.B. section on this site & you will see what I am saying.

No, it will hurt your millage. about 1 mpg worse.

285's will fit, but it isn't recommended. We have them on our stock rims with very minor "adjustments" to the truck.

We plan to get a set of H2 wheels/tires, these 285's are already looking small to me. Then we can mount a set of snow tires on the stock rims.

It will most likely decrease your fuel ecomony a little bit, but if you can afford a dmax you can probably afford a few more cents at the pump):h

285/75/R16 on stock rims...(more in my sig. link)
