: Unique Attitude placement
What are some of your Attitude placement locations?
I need some ideas...besides the A-pillar.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
sdaver 11-24-2003, 10:41 AM lots of post here on this read a little

This is the view from the driver's seat. I can see it fine through the steering wheel, I don't have to dip my head or anything. It'd be nice to have it more in my field of view without taking my eyes so far off the road, but I couldn't find an area up high I was happy with. And that area I have it in already has a cluttered look with the brake controller stuff, might as well localize the clutter.
There is a lot of reading on the subject, with a description of the install, but did not come accross many pictures.
Let's see some more pics...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
gsxr1216 11-24-2003, 01:33 PM theres two other current threads about 3-4 down from this on the exact same topic with pics.
Joe E 11-24-2003, 01:52 PM Also, Mic, what are you driving, as mountings options vary a little by year.

I am driving a 2001 Silverado, I don't think the O/H will be a prime spot to view the screen. But I could be wrong.
Just trying to drum up some additional input from others.
I already have gauges on the A-pillar...so that may be too cluttered..
Joe E 11-24-2003, 07:42 PM Agreed on the O/H. I got mine hooked up today - it's easy to view clearly, but it's well out of the way of clear vision (you have to make a point of turning your head to look at it. I guess if/when I'm concerned about temps, etc, I will do so, but otherwise I'm not too concerned about it. gsxr's position is where I had it previously, and it's very visable/convenient.
Dmax affair 12-07-2003, 05:45 PM I recived these pictures from a fellow that is on the Edge products forums.

Joe E 12-07-2003, 08:23 PM My dislike of that placement is it's a clear signal to anyone walking by your truck that there's something inside worth taking. Mind you I live in a suburb of Detroit, so I have to consider these things... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Tinted windows would make that viable I suppose.
PULNPWR 12-12-2003, 04:38 PM Ok here's where I put mine. I got this from Advanced Turbo Systems. It is for 2003 and it's new, it looks great and fits perfectly. Call Deanna and she will set you up with one.

BlueOx03 12-12-2003, 05:52 PM Only one thing pops up in my mind when I look at that...SWEET!!
Mjollnir 12-12-2003, 06:04 PM PULNPWR - that mount is SICK! I will definately be going that route if I decide to get the Attitude. The mounting question is one of the main things that was making me hesitate, but that looks factory!
Nice, very nice. What do the two switches on the right do?
Joe E 12-12-2003, 06:10 PM Very nice!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

I just talked to Deanna....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
It comes with either the two switches to mount what ever you'd like up there, or plain without switches. I ordered one without the switches which she says are out of stock right now, but expected shortly.
Oh, they're $45.00, I don't know if the one with switches costs more or not, forgot to ask.
Thanks PULNPWR....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifEdited by: Zeeb

Joe E 12-12-2003, 08:32 PM I wonder if they'll offer something for the '01 - that's clean enough for me to dump what I did...
PULNPWR 12-12-2003, 11:56 PM Mjollnir: What do the two switches on the right do.
Nothing now, maybe NOS later on !!!!

Yee ha! Rock and roll, baby!
You oughta just label them for now:
"missile launcher" and "ejector seat"
And when you get NOS:
"pucker mode" and "poopy pants"
Camstyn 12-13-2003, 06:39 AM That looks sweet, except I need/use that pocket for my smokes!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I guess I'll have to quit smoking...
NoWake200 12-13-2003, 02:23 PM GREAT looking install!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
One question is the wire of the Attitude long enough to reach the Juice box when it is installed up top? Also one more question....can you see the diplay ok from the drivers seat?
Thanks

Can it be removed easily when taking truck in for service? That install is killer!

Until the new Attitude units come w/ a 9' lead (not sure when/if already available), you need a 3' extension for the 6' lead.
I have mine mounted up there in my '01 (see pics in a diff thread), and you can read them easily, but it's not in the field of vision: meaning that your eyes need to refocus, and it's more of a turn of the head than normal. That's good and bad - you don't necessarily watch it as often as you might normal guages (but how often do people even look at their oil pressure?), but if you're pulling up a hill, etc, it's stille asy to keep an eye on. The plus is it's stock looking, out of the way, and not a constant distraction as digital guages can be difficult to watch frequently (I had it on my dash before, and it was a little annoying).

Yes, it just snaps in.. but it is a tight fit....
NoWake200 12-13-2003, 11:02 PM Thank you for the info...I am trying to get as much info as possible. Actually I am always watching my guages....it is kinda in my line of work.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif I really liked my A-pillar guages...but I really like the way this set up looks.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
socaldmax 12-18-2003, 02:59 AM I mounted mine just above the stereo on the dash. Close to my line of sight yet unobtrusive. I used a little peice of aluminum, like apeice of a soda can and bent it over the dash bezel then used double sticky tape to keep it in place, very solid. Cost $0.

curtisb 12-18-2003, 02:55 PM I just called up ATS as well and ordered the snap-in with buttons. It is the same price as without the buttons. $45.00 plus shipping. Guess I won't worry about the gauges as I am just going to go the Juice and Attitude route.
