For the past two weekends, I've been workin on putting LEDs in my '05 cluster. I purchased the 120 degree 5mm blue LEDs from superbrightleds.com. I bought the flat tipped, wide angle LEDs in hopes of a more dispersed light pattern that would evenly light the gauges. While it was apart, I also added an escalade style overlay with new needles and a chrome lens that I got from JP Customs. Without further ado, here are some pictures of the swap.

I still have to put the lens on and get some final shots of everything. But here is a teaser shot from when I tested it. The dimmer does work and this is at full power. Sorry for the blurriness.

Overall, this mod has been more tedious than anything. It gets a little awkward working with the small LEDs and resistors. Also, getting everything positioned on the board was the toughest part for me. Soldering is also required but I found this to be fairly simple, since it doesn't take much solder to secure everything. I actually taught myself to solder specifically for this project, so anyone can do it.
Also, many thanks go to JHForman, his write-up in the DIY section was a big help.
