I am interested in installing a remote start. I live in Alaska and I have my block heater plugged in to prevent cold starts, which is highly recommended up here to help prevent pollution. My concern is starting the vehicle while the block heater is plugged in. Will I need to unplug it before I start it?

Thanks,

Jeff

No - having you're block heater plugged in shouldn't hurt anything when you start it. It will help aid the warmup. I do it with mine all the time.
