I'm new to diesel's and am looking to get a 99-01 PSD soon. Just was wondering what to look for and what to watch out for? Also out of those years are any better then the other? Any info or advice would help thanks.
99 psd have a fuel system problem due to poor engineering. i dont know if it was corrected in later years. it can be corrected with little trouble even ford ofers a kit.if your looking for my humble opinion i think the best truck on road today is the 1997 f350 psd with a manual trans that is if the 6.0 L turns out to be a good one

The later the better. They changed the turbo in 2000 to a new style you can tell by the location of the PSD badge if it is on the door it is a 99.5 to a 2004 the 99.5 have a red underlining on the badge and the 99s have the badge in the same place as the V-10 0r V-8 on the front fender. Get an 01 because it is allmost 3 years in the same engine configureation. Also check out thedieselstop.com it is a FORD site.
