http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/grd.gif Hey, A friend of mine has a 2003 Duramax crew cab dually, just put on exhaust and air intake set-up. Now , after gauge install, what is the better performance boxes out there for Chevy. He doesnt want to go extreme, just needs more power. Oh, by the way, he has a 6 speed manual, not the auto. Are there boxes out there to stay away from or are they all created equal? About all he tows is 10 K and not on a regular basis. What suggestions do you have for him? Thanks

I got an 02 with a six speed. I've been told by a bunch of guys on here that if you go with a real big horsepower increase you start smokin' clutches, which obviously makes sense. I've got a buddy with a 04 cummin's thats edged, and at 26,000 he's gettin' a heavier clutch put in. With that in mind, I'm starting to think the Diablosports predator programmer is the way to go. It's a got a 40 and 65 rwhp setting that can be used safely while towing...actually, the 40 can be used with the vehicles manufactured weight ratings, while the 65 I think is limited to 8 or 9 thousand lbs. Either way, the programmer has lots of features to it, and from what guys on this site who have them have been saying, they work really well. Anyway, i'm sure you'll get better advice than this from the more knowledgeable people, but I figured i'd throw in my 2 cents.
Have a good one.:ro)

If he already has the gauges the predator is hard to beat for performance and diagnostics.

Gauges and a predator would be a great place to start.

I'd run the Edge Juice w/ Attitude on a 2003 LB7. The Predator is better on an LLY (IMHO).
