Anyone have pics of an A-pilar gauge pod set up installed? Curious if it's worth spending $62- on the a-pilar piece. Thanks

CR chip won't do no good on your OBDII like me you need to reflash it.

80hp chip??? & 150' tq as listed on the site, I would like to see some dyno data to support that along with some EGT, fuel & boost nos, that is a LOT of gain for a chip only more than most have seen with chip/programming only, have you dynoed or run a G tech for before and after to see if it met advertised claims, what kind of numbers you show for boost vs rpm & EGT, do you have access to a scan tool to know what kind of delivery is being commanded. This guy got a shop & phone # or just run from ebay/email only would be interesting to chat with him.

3 hole Autometer pod ran about $30 when I bought mine, Summit, Jegs carry them Autozone et als can get them, one thing to watch for on ebay is shipping; $16 seems a bit steep for a gage pod, if you buy gages with the pod see if you can talk Summit Jegs into throwing in free shipping, ask all they can say is no, I got free ship on my gages/pod.

I know the chip won't do me any good with my system, but if a guy can make a 80HP chip surely he has the knowledge for a 80 HP re-flash also. Although i'm skeptical about the 80HP claim. I would have to see the numbers before considering purchasing.

My concern is how the wick is turned up to get the 80Hp, if he can manage it safely for the long haul I also would be looking at a reflash offering.

Thanks for the info, I figured that before I spend money on build ups, I might as well put some nice gauges in. I was looking at the Autometer Cobalt line, a bit pricey though..... I'm gonna shop around, that $30 sounds a lot better than 60 for the pod!

Anyone have pics of other than A-pillar gauges that they have installed. I'm thinkin of one of the radio locations. I dont like the pillar pods b/c the block some forward vision. Its hard enough to drive my CC dually w/o any more visibility issues caused by the pillar gauges.

Also, which gauges (boost, egt, etc) and which manufacturer do you guys recommend? Mechanical or electronic?

Thanks,

John

I have that same chip from the same guy in mine. While i dont have my guages hooked up yet I can tell you there is a DEFINITE difference.I had a friend of mine borrow my truck to haul a trailer and he asked me what i had done to it becuase it was pulling way better than the last time he used it./

when i had my 97 tahoe, i had some gauges mounted in a cheap aftermarket center console on the floor. they looked pretty good for something i put together for ±10.00cdn plus cost of gauges [boost & 2 vac gauges, one to measure vacuum pump, one to measure egr which was acting up, and once it was "fixed for good" measured intake air restriction - pyro was on order, but never recieved and tahoe was sold later, so never got around to it]

pics here of my vdo vision series gauges in my tahoe (http://community.webshots.com/album/44601538vSshOY)
