: Black plastic
WhitetailAddict 03-22-2008, 10:53 PM What do you guys reccomend to use on my black textured molding, flares and handles to bring them back to color? The moldings and flares aren't that bad, but the handles are really bad after taking off the chrome covers.
tomrex 03-23-2008, 12:01 AM Mothers back to black always worked for me. I also go over them a few times with Black Magic Tire Wet...just be really careful not to get it on the paint, it's a pain in the ASS to get off.
WhitetailAddict 03-23-2008, 12:55 AM Thanks, I'll try that.
JC PAINT WORKZ 03-23-2008, 01:03 AM I was thinking about buying the mothers back to black... ill buy it now that its heard to work!!

s100 is almost straight silicone... if you ever have to paint your rig... better clean, clean, clean before you do it... or you will have fish eye from hell.. i try to NEVER use silicone on my trucks/bikes... looks great but brings hell if you ever have to fix or paint anything!!
CrewCabMax 03-23-2008, 12:30 PM Back to black works good for me as well! I love it. I've used it on A LOT of stuff! I dont like to use tire shine on my plastic though. When it rains, it washes it off, and runs down the side of my truck. So i just try to stick with back to black! Its GOOOODD shit men!

awesome stuff !!! i use it every car wash on my mirrors and fenders
I use back to black and apply it with a foam paint brush. Then I use an electric toothbrush (on the small parts like door handles). It works decent, but after a while, the areas that I had previously gotten wax on the plastic, shows again.
Also tried peanut butter, what a mess. If I were going to used it again, I would get that old fashioned type where the oil has separated to the top of the jar. I would then just dip my rag into the oil.
volumejunkie 03-23-2008, 06:50 PM MKAH, I use this stuff called Wax Blaster. It's awsome at getting wax of the fender flares, door handles, trim or whatever you dont want it on. Also a firm believer in back to black.
WhitetailAddict 03-23-2008, 10:12 PM Thanks for the input guys, looks like I'm definitely picking up some back to black on the next trip to the parts store.
psimms 03-24-2008, 03:01 PM I just got rid of a truck with the black fender flars and black handles used the tutle wax ice on them you talk about shine it goes on easy and comes off as easy as it goes on
LLYMike 03-24-2008, 05:28 PM I use Meguiars high endurance tire shine, its a thick liquid, shines the black up to better than new.
nekkidhillbilly 03-25-2008, 08:59 AM paint them body color
RockstarRR 03-25-2008, 05:22 PM paint them body color
that is also an option...
WhitetailAddict 03-25-2008, 05:40 PM paint them body color
Yeah, I considered that. I have a good body shop that does all my work. I need to see how much it will cost if I prep the parts myself and have them spray them.
