well last friday i set the predator to kill mode. 100 hp. i get on the highway and floor it get up to about 75 and back down. i get off the highway and wouldnt you know its bucking and sputtering at 2000 rpm's. i wasnt to worried i get home set the pred to 65hp because i am going on a trip that night. everythings ok.
i get on to 495 and set the cruise at 70mph. i check the rpms 1800 rpm's. thats not right so i whip out the pred yup 1850 rpm's at 70 mph. so i then check the gps to conferm i am doing 70. dead on. 70 mph. so i am trying to figuare out why its doing this all of a sudden. i look at the out side temp. -7 degrees. thinking this is it i stop thinking about it. so i go the weekend visiting relitives and shoing them my truck and the pred and stuff. i fill up 17.3mpg. not to bad i am thinking for the driving i did.
well on the way home i set the cruise at 68mph because the cops where out at full force today. i toped off the truck to where i could see the fuel in the filler neck and got right on the highway. i check the pred for rpm's again upper 1700's. and conferm 68 mph with the gps. i get to my exit in mass get off drop off my co pilot(who slept the whole time) go home and fill right up. i knew i was getting good milage. i fill up. my milage on the trip was 273.5. the total gallons of fuel i put in was 13.2 that was to the neck where i could see the fuel. after doing the math 20.7mpg. i couldnt believe it. i rechecked it 3 times and each time 20.7 mpg. thats 260 mile highway at 68mph 13 around town. i could never get this kind of milage or rpms at that speed before i limped my ally.
my truck was unloaded and had 2 people in it. i hit 3 toll booths and stoped once and never shut down the truck. i wish i would of had my digital camra to show the imiages but take my word for it. i can get pics of the rpms and speed but not filling up the truck.
so my question is is will limping the ally give these affects? higher speeds at a lower rpm?
also at 2000 rpms the truck is doing 74 mph. before 2000 was 70. could it be my tires? the taller tires rolling less? i dont know need idea on how to explain it. its been bothering me for about 2 hours now.
