If the cost was not a factor, what are (if any) the differences in the two exhaust systems.

Honestly....Nothing....I would purchase MBRP.

I did a huge search and price check on exhausts. I bought a Motoblue Mandrel bent SST with 5" polished SST tip to my door for $269. I got the SST version for the price of the aluminized as they were out of stock. The kit Installed in less than 2 hours.

What Duramax Dually said....:agreed:

I've got MBRP T-409 single. Good price, nice sound.

I have the Banks exhaust and it installed with ease and is quiet (nice on long tow trips), but only beef is that it has surface rust on it (Banks uses a different Stainless Steel) and it looks ugly, other'n that it's fine.

I'd go with the MBRP. I have the cool dual 409's and am very happy with it. I like the fact that it dumps the exhaust out on both sides of the truck. I do allot of extended idling on city streets and I don't have people asking me to turn off my engine anymore.

MaineMax,

You nailed it the cost is the real difference. Both are made from T-409 stainless, which will turn brown/gray and get some spots on it in some tough winter regions of the country. The MBRP does get you a selection of tip choice or even no tip at all if you prefer that, with Banks you get what they have so options etc. Otherwise thats' it! Call us if you need any other info on the MBRP, were always glad to help, and we GUARANTEE all or our prices.

FWIW.....

I just put my MBRP 409 stainless on the truck today, and D@MN does it sound good. Gerry at Bigdawgs hooked me up with a great deal on the exhaust and the Edge/Attitude for my truck, and WOW, what a difference. The truck has tons more power( i am on level 3) and the MBRP sounds GREAT.

my $.02

I just recieved my Single MBRP T-409 cat back exhaust kit today for my 04.5 LLY cc sb. I want to install it asap. Can anyone give me any tips, or "I wish I would have done that" advise to help make it a hassle free job before I even start?
Thanks

Dunno about what comes w/your kit ~ but when I ordered my Banks, I asked the same question and the ans was to get some SS band clamps from NAPA.

4day4me,

Verify that whats in the box matches the instructions, start removing the stock system and you'll be done before you know it! One of the easiest system to install and such!!

I just installed my MRBP T-409 "Cat Back" single exhaust this morning ! What can I say...WOW what a quality product and a easy, I mean easy install !):h It was one of the most simplest installs I have done so far on my truck. I happened to get a free SS 5"tip when I ordered it and that finished off the job real nice ! I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a "Cat Back" system. I just noticed a slight difference in the muffler sound, with more of a nice rumble sound on acceleration, but not to loud.

Has anyone reversed the muffler on a MRBP? How does it sound? Is it much louder?
