I am looking for a touch screen type Nav system that will replace my stock system.
I don't have the Bose so I can't go the Escalade route but I like to full screen look of the Escalade/Hummer Nav.
What is available aftermarket?
Also, what about the steering wheel controls? Is there a way to still use them?
I know I'm asking for a lot, but isn't that what we all want here? More than GM chose to give us!!!

I have the Pioneer N1 Nav (touch screen) with Sirius and XM radio. The N1 is apparantly going to be replaced in March with N2. No info on this unit yet.

Kenwood is the only company currently making a double din unit that is full size (meaning it fills the whole pretty much completely). It's a DDX7015. A couple members here have installed it and I have one in my shop. Was going to install it until I found out about the new Pioneer D1 which will be the same as the N2 coming in march, but it will be double din.

New Pio D2 is double din but doesn't play DVD's. Go with an N2 and a dash kit.

Still haven't seen on these posts whether or not steering wheel controls will still work. When I bought my truck in April I looked into it and everyone told me the same thing that no system will allow for steering wheel controls to still work with any new nav system/stereo. This is why I had my older NAV system installed until they came out with proper harnesses to make sure steering controls still would work. Until then I have a standalone Alpine system working off a remote control. Anyone with info. on maintaining steering wheel controls please let us know. Thanks.:)

I have the Kenwood DDX-7015 in my truck for about 6 months now with the steering wheel control and the Navigation system and two cameras. Everything works well but I can't give too many details since I had the system professionally installed. I can say that all the aftermarket parts are out there which will do what you are looking for.

Steering wheel controls can be retained with a PAC interface. More info here: http://www.jpcustoms.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=16246&cat=305&page=1
I don't believe it'll interface with your nav controls, only your stereo controls as it normally did.
As Retorical said, the Pioneer D1 doesn't play DVDs. I have had a DVD player installed up front for a year now and can count on one hand how many times I've watched a DVD... Not something I personally need, but if you want a DVD player there the D1 isn't an option. I should also mention that Eclipse makes a double din unit and has done for a year or two now. I played with it at SEMA and wasn't terribly fond of it, but these are the only three double din units available to my knowledge. All will play CDs, stereo, and include or can be used with a nav system.
