I removed my tuner program today and it reported DTC 0302, the book I have for a different scanner shows that as #2 cylinder misfire. I haven’t had any trouble with the truck, it's running great. Can someone elaborate more on what this means? Is it time for a dealer trip?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Changes in the last few months: straight pipe turbo back (same size as factory), swiss cheese mod on air intake, synthetic oil, tires aired to max pressure...55psi front-80psi rear, Hypertech III set on stage one.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

I do seem to smell raw diesel at times, but in reading the form here that seems normal with exhaust mod.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

My fuel mileage is excellent so this comes as somewhat of a surprise. I'm avg 19mpg hand calculated (mostly freeway miles @ 80mph).<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Before I get flamed for mpg results, I live in AZ weather is warm (compared to upper states with snow), I don't think we have winter blend fuel-might be wrong on that, I have 26,000 miles on the truck (bought new June 1, 2004). I drive mostly highway miles, I have hand calculated every gal of fuel since new and keep a running spreadsheet on mileage. I am just now getting this kind of mileage as of recent so the code caught me by surprise.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Any thoughts or advice?<o:p></o:p>

Thanks In Advance, Jumper257<o:p></o:p>

Have you had the reflash done?

Hi Max,

No I have not, that is actually why I removed the programmer so that I could schedule that and drive the truck a couple of days before taking it in. This is how I discovered the code. It never set a SES light. So I was a little surprised.

Since you ask, the only issue I've had with it is rough idle when cold, and not even that all the time. If not for that, I'm not sure I would mess with it.

I need to have some small issues taken care of before warranty runs out like the a/c accumulator. Based on what some have said here, they may re-flash automatically at that point. I want to test the upgrade in case I don’t like it, again before the warranty runs out.

Would PCM upgrades not be covered under emissions for 100,000 miles?

Thanks for your help here.

The PCM upgrades would be covered under the emissions warranty if you have a problem that warrants a reflash. Once you have the flash, you cannot go back, unless you have special powers bestowed upon you by the GM gods. Also, I have seen cases of Hypertech programmers not recognizing the new software after a flash, and having to be sent back for updates to work with new programming.

Yep, I've read that as well (about Hypertech) it seems everyone favors the Preditor when it comes to programmers. I may have to re-tool :-).

Thanks for your help.
