What kinda built trans do you have? You should be pretty dang close with your ppe, but it seems like some lly's fall just short of 500 with ppe.

A downpipe replacement would definitely help and a PPE boost controller set to about 34psi and that should get you over 500rwhp.

Even with that newer tune the claims the 400+ HP? I havent got the tranny done yet, i am still trying to decide and stomach the chunk of change.

You'll need lift pumps and need to shim your FPRV also !! Just something to think about !!

Youll prob be 490+ on the 350 tune on a lly. The 425 tune is a tune for dual fuelers. A buddy of mine says that level 10-425 doesnt run as good or fast as level 9-350. And thats probably because he has a single stock cp3. Youll be darn close but thats just my .02 Like others said youll need to shim the fprv so you can hold pressure also.

Since you have an LLY I'd rather have a switchable EFI Live tune. JMO.

Right on Nodmax

I'd definatly take HeavyHD's advice. He just went though the motions to hit 500hp with hisl lly and achieved his goal. Def gonna need a tranny to hold it though.

help me out whats an fprv? I thought about efi live but I am no where near understanding all of it. Can efi live be a plug and play operation or do I need to tune in on a PC? thanks for all your input!

FPRV=Fuel Pressure Relief Valve. Its screwed into the back of your drivers side fuel rail. You would take it apart and put some shims in with the spring so it will hold a higher amount of pressure. Jneal did mine one day when I had it in the shop and it can be a sob to do. Im not gonna knock ppe or start any agruements but the nice thing about efi is that if you end up not quite being at 500, you can tweak a few little things that need tweaked and get that 500+. EFI is just as easy and fast as ppe but you will need your laptop there while loading the tune. Dont worry I dont understand all of the efi programming yet either. There are many good people out there that write tunes. If you get a pre written tune its a piece of cake.

I have 500hp and 12s in my sights right now and have many of the same mods you are planning and most of the ones mentioned (see sig or garage). I haven't been on a dyno yet but this weekend I just built my SC IV with billet shafts, t-case brace and pump rub and a 1058. I am running EFI Live and wouldn't recommend anything else, I've heard good things about PPE but with EFI the possibilities are endless. i would also just throw in a PPE race valve instead of the shim, unscrew the FPRV and screw the rac valve in. Just to clear up for others the Air Dog 150 is a lift pump (which I have and need to install) and it should allow you to go over 500 hp with a stock CP3, though maybe not with the PPE. I am pushing 34 psi right now and my hot tune is pretty ridiculous so once this trans is broken in I can't wait to hit the dyno and track.
