I buy mine from the dealer (In Molalla, OR) that I bought my FuelMeister system from. He typically only sells to people that have bought a system from him. I have found the same product at Lowes, but it is not always in stock. It is found in the plumbing department with the drain cleaners. It comes in a 2 lb white bottle with red/yellow label. The brand is Roebic.

Best way to find a source is a local guy who has already done all the looking for you. I was on a Bio website and found out I could have methanol and lye delivered from a guy only 4 miles away, for a good price.

Try here. Scroll all the way down to your local forum..

Good WVO will take approx. 8 grams of lye per liter. 454 grams in a pound. You have 4540 grams. I guess about 567.5 liters or 150 gallons.

Check out any farm supply places around Hermiston, maybe Pendleton Grain Growers.Your looking for sodium hydroxide which is the same as Red Devil lye or potassium hydroxide which is KOH.You will find it a lot cheaper than Flea bay.Should be able to get the sodium hydroxide for about a dollar a pound. If its the same one I just saw at Ebay for 14.75 it was 20.00 for shipping which 35.00 for 10 pounds is no real bargain in my book.

OK thanks never thought to look there, you must be from around here, where abouts? If you don't mind me asking, Are you making BD? I'm trying to get started but am having trouble finding oil, seems everyone around here already has spoken for the oil at all the restaurants.

Hey catman, spent about 15-18 years in Pendleton,as far as acquiring oil try the small places that are privately owned.Any Asian or Mexican restaurant will have pretty good oil.Best to approach them at a calm time, not during lunch or dinner time, and ask them what they do with their old oil.Speak to the manager or whoever is in charge and explain that you recycle old oil and ask how they get rid of theirs. If they say they pay someone to take it ,then ask if they have a contract and when does it expire. If they do not have a contract then let them know you will pick it up for free as long as only you get the oil.If they say ok then set a time thats good for both of you and make sure you pick it up when you say you will or let them know if you will be late and be sure and not make any kind of mess.It helps to have a business card, seems more professional, you can get them printed online for about 6.00 per 100 but it impresses them that you are serious about this instead of giving them a piece of paper with your name on it.
