I am looking at installing the Banks Techni-Cooler as the next step to my truck upgrade. I have read a fair amount on Inter-Coolers and was looking for some comments from people who have used the Banks "LB7" Techni-Cooler. Did it give the stated performance increases? Was it difficult to install?

I don't think anyone really has seen a need for the banks intercooler. There are guys running 500-800hp on the LB7 intercooler. It is only a matter of time until the LLYs start seeing bigger #'s as well but I doubt you will see a banks intercooler in the equation.

I don't think it has been released yet. Last I heard from Colin was 1-5 and he was heading to a meeting regarding these.

I received a brochure from Banks and see it is part of a Bundle they sell. I heard a price of 1600.00 USD just for the Inter-Cooler. Which today equals 2000 CDN. Seems like a lot of money and was wondering if it is worth it. 2000 CDN is amost halfway to an upgraded tranny.

I REALLY doubt it would be worth it.

Thanks for the input guys. For 2K I am going to forget it and put the money into a transmission upgrades. The warranty on the Allision will be up this summer so I figure that's a good time to do it.

I think the intercooler you are talking about is only for the 6.0 Powerstroke. Cummins, and DMax don't have one available yet. (Last I heard)

They had a Dmax LLY with intercooler on display at PRI. The only problem is, the Banks vs. OEM display (located with each engine group) had a plastic tank cooler cutaway from a Ford I believe:badidea:

I just got a brochure in the mail indicating they did. Maybe they are trying to get advance orders. I haven't talked to anyone at Banks yet. I expect the Sales People will be calling soon to follow up on the brochure.
