Look in the Yellow pages to get an Allison Dealer/Repair Shop(look under transmissions). They are the only one I will goto from here on out. A filter for $7, and a magnet for $3 (if I need one). Mine is Smith Power Products they are awesome!!!!!

pretty much what everyone else said.

Most big truck shops carry it. I get mine from an International dealer.

Called a local GMC dealer today to get a gallon of the Transynd, he quoted me a price of $57. I'll just take a ride out to the Allison dealer about 50 miles from here and buy the 5 gallon bucket for around $145. This will be the third time I've drained the pan and changed about 5 filters so all I have left from the first 5 gallons is almost gone anyway.

The Allison 1000 is used in all of these GM vehicles and so is Transynd — check the site (see specs near bottom of page). http://www.gmc.com/mediumduty/topkick/4500/specsEngine_2.jsp?vehicle=4500

Applies only to 4500 + medium duty trucks. You'll notice there are also different Allisons to chose from

[QUOTE=JD4440;2559512]Applies only to 4500 + medium duty trucks. You'll notice there are also different Allisons to chose from[/QUOTE

The purpose of my post was only to show that GM trucks and other vehicles, above the 2400 and 3500 pickup series are using the Allison 1000 AND specifying Transynd. Thus, it is hard to see how there would ever be a warranty issue with Transynd. Too, it certainly suggests that Transynd is preferred in HD applications. I may be missing something, but there is no reference to Amsoil.
