Right now all I have is the Predator on 65hp. What else is there that I can do to get a little more fun(and a little more smoke:D) out of this safely? I want to protect the tranny, which is the big thing for me. I've thought about bumping it up to 85 but I read about guys limping the tranny, although I know a guy that is running his 07 classic around on 120 with no problems. Any suggestions?

Some guys have limped there tranny on the 45 tune. During the summer in Northern NY I leave mine on the 85 tune. In the winter I bump it down to the 65 or 45 tune. No need for that much power on snow and ice.

I run my edge on 120 all summer. Ive heard if you stack the pred. with the edge it will smoke a bunch. But you cant run both on a big power level. I will prolly throw it on there some day soon

We run the 85 tune 24/7 with the mods in the sig. Below. Neve had any problems with this tune at all. Smoke is only when you get on it but then clears up.
100 tune we had it limp on that. So we went back to the 85 and still havnet ever limped it on that, and we drive this truck pretty hard.

as far the 07 the 6spd was built a bit more stout than the 5spd. they revised 3/4 of the trans with the trans go mods. it'll go some day but not as quick as the 5spd would. unless he has already installed the trans go jr:D

Just be easy on the tranny when it shifts from 4th to 5th. If you have to get on it just shift the tranny into 4th gear so you don't have the 4th to 5th shift.

Would putting the truck in tow/haul with the Pred set on 85 do any thing to help the tranny as far as protecting it? I wonder if I'm not kinda over worrying about this. Most my driving is in town with occasional highway but when it's a nice Sunday afternoon I do like to go hotroding around town some:D

I limped mine on 85 within about a week, but i was rough on it. Then i turned it up all the way and limped it again. All my limps were going from 4 to 5, so lock out overdrive. But i fixed that problem now.;)

I guess I'm 100% clear on the 4 to 5 shift. I understand that I have to be careful when the truck shifts into it. I can't stomp on it and flat foot it all the way up to 5th. I would have to let off and let it kinda gradually shift into 5th. Am I understanding this correctly? What about if I swing out to pass someone, should I fall back a little and then roll up and swing past them as opposed to just swithcing lanes and hitting the go pedal.

Correct. A hard 4-5 shift can easily cause a limp. So will a hard 5-4 downshift.

So seeing that a built trans is pretty much out of the question for me, would installing a Transgo kit be worth it or is that just a band aid?

why is it out of the question

Because I don't have the 3 grand for the kit. I wish I did though.
