I'm looking into a similar kit and will be attending a seminar next month. $3k is a lot of money but I have a heavy foot, drive 2500mi per month and my house loves heating oil. I've run the numbers it makes sense for my situation.

Check my math, but at $3K and figuring 15MPG on Bio (that's what I get, 17-18 on Dino) if you saved $1.00 per gallon it would be paid for at 45K miles, $2.00 per gallon at 22.5K miles, $3.00 per gallon at 15K miles. So if you're a high mileage driver it would probably pay for itself. If you're a low mileage driver I think it would take quite awhile.

Make sure you check out Dynadroit's kit, Deadeye is a vendor here on the DP. Although the price is higher you are getting a quality tested product and it is far more automated.
Good luck, Bio is definitely the way to go!

Your math is correct. The national average mileage per year for a vehicle is 15k miles. So it would pay for itself in 1 years time. In my opinion that is livable for me. I have had my system for 2 1/2 years so it has paid for itself plus some.

i think that the appleseed converter is cheaper and would produce the same result that your looking for and pay for its self much quicker just a little more leg work http://www.biodieselcommunity.org

Has anyone actually used the DYNADROIT here? I'm trying to figure out which system\processor I will buy. I love my diesel but I'm not paying 5.00 a gallon if i canhelp it.

Thanks

For those running bio or wvo how do you go about securing your oil sources? I tried a chinese restaurant and the guy was kind of stand-offish about giving me the oil. I offered to buy it but I didn't know what to offer. He finally agreed to 5 gallons here and there but I have to ask each time I want some. Should I drive around at night with a pump and help myself lol? Haven't started yet. Any tips appreciated.

i have been studying biodiesel for awhile ,, I recommend reading Biodiesl basics and beyond ,there is several ways to make a bio lab,, but you have to be careful cause there is alot of bi product that people think isn't harmful ,, as far as finding oil i have had no luck yet ,,i have also thought about sneaking it to but i would hate to go to jail for used vegatable oil,, Im looking into getting a contract with the prison , I was tiold they throw it in the trash..
The people that i have talked to that get vegtable oil from restraunts go about it very professional ..They told me to draw up a contract stateing that you will pick it as told and they provide properly labeled containers ,, I am trying to get all the resources together...still trying to decide if im going to make bidiesel or get a heated system for my diesel engine ,,They both cost about the same for initial set up ,, let me know what you do im very interested in bio fuel...
