A pretty detailed document on diesel fuel, bio diesel, additives. So it kind of shows some very similar thinking among engine manufacturers. It has all different manufactures recommendations in one document; Duramax is on page 11. The Duramax info looks pretty much like what's in the owners manual.

I am wanting to find out about the new EPA Regs that take effect on
Jan-1-2007 about the new watered down diesel fuel with less Sulphur. how
is it going to affect my 2002 Duramaxx? Will I need more fuel to travel the
same distance? I understand that the big rigs will be required to buy a
$5000 catalytic converter to acept this new fuel will I have to modify my
truck also? will I be able to use both the new and the old fuel during the
phase out period? Will it mess up my engine? Do I have to have it adjusted
by the dealer for the new fuel? etc, etc....
Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated! Joe
