if the performance formula says "prevents and protects against fuel gelling", then how come on the bottle it says "highly concentrated formula-store above 32 degrees."? I was just wondering because i want to keep some in my toolbox and it gets way below 32 degrees. I think that if it is a anti-gel formula, then it should be able to be stored below freezing. Kinda like windshield washer fluid.

Good question. I keep it in my box and it hasn't frozen yet. Gets down to about 10-15 *F here. I'll be curious to hear a response if someone has one.

Ive never had any freeze. I do highly recommend standyne though, been running it for years and love it to death, wouldnt use anything else.

yeah i've been using cenpenco since i bought the truck a year ago which had 54,000 miles, today she just turned 80,000....and i've decided to switch to stanadyne. i did notice about a 1-2 mpg increase, so i'll have to see how she runs when i burn through this case of additive.

The anti-gel properties become evident when it is mixed with diesel.

With that, let's move this to Maintenance and Fluids.

I've got another question.Does anyone know if there is a shelf life to stanadyne? I've emailed them but no response and I don't see any listed on the bottle. I usually buy it by the case and am concerned it may loose some of it's benefits if it sits too long.

i'm not sure about that....with mine, i don't let it sit any longer than a year..i figure if i buy a case of 12 bottles, then if i ever have any left a year later, its only going to be a bottle or two, so i will just throw them out...but i go through tanks of fuel like a fat kid goes through cupcakes, so i haven't had that problem yet :)

Reply from Stanadyne on their estimated shelf life and why you have to keep it from freezing. Personally, I have a couple of the Stanadyne single shot bottles which I just refill and keep in the cab of the truck to keep from freezing.
