I'm looking at a 2004.5 LLY with 30K miles. The 3/36,000 warranty is off, but can the 5/100,000 engine warranty be transfered to the 2nd and 3rd owner. Just curious if it's limited to the 2nd owner or something. Is there a transfer fee to GM?

Its an automatic transfer, it follows the truck regardless of what owner number you are. There are no transfer fees, those only apply to GMPP type extended warranties.

Are "U" joints covered by the 5/100,000 also?

NO I think the 5/5000 is engine only the rest is 3/36000 unless you have a extended warranty.

the warranty does not cover wear items just engine and drive terrain. maybe u joints under extended warrant or the origanal warranty but i would think that is a wear item unless there was a defect in it. i know they will cover tire balance up to 5000 miles. there is so much fine writing (from experience) that you really dont know unless you research it your self. i had things fixed under warranty the dealer didnt even know it was warrantied thanx to this site. just my 2 cents
