Im thinking about buying a 1999 Ford F-250, 4x4, 7.3 liter powerstroke. He wants $13,000. It has 190,000 miles on it. Im wondering is that a good price? I know the diesels have a 100,000 mile warranty, but 190,000 is a lot of miles. Is that too many??? Is there anything I should be carefull about???? What problems should i look for when i go to look at it??
THANKS FOR YOUR INPUTS!!!!!!

Take it somewhere and have a scanner hooked up to see if there are any trouble codes stored in the history. Of course this can't give you a heads up of everything that may go wrong in the future, but if you see IDM/Injector/ICP codes then you should be able to talk the asking price down accordingly. Aside from that, the general mechanical condition of the truck is just as important, Tranny, Rearend, brakes, suspension, steering. If you are comfortable inspecting all these things and test driving the truck then do so, but if not, I reccomend having a garage scan it, test drive it and inspect it. Shouldn't have that many issues with a 6yr old truck, but always good to have an idea what your getting into when buying a used vehicle.
