wanted to double check. changing tranny fluid on a 2006 allison with fluid is about 8 quarts right? i am just draining pan and replacing external filter.

You are correct, the manual says 7.4.

Just did mine 2 weeks ago and it was exactly 8 qts. Checked it yesterday with a 135* F trans temp and it was at about 1/4" below top full hot mark which is right on. BTW, I had changed the spin on 2 times without adding anything becase I thought the level was a bit high from the factory. I change my spin on at 15k intervals.

They are all safe to use. If under warranty might want to stick with a dex 6 product. Otherwise a tes-295 fluid would be another good option.

yeah i'm using amsoil in the rear diff.. i have read to use transynd in the tranny..

Without pulling the pan mine was overfilled at 8 quarts. I would buy 8 put in 7 and check it

Correct and I believe that's at 150* F.

If it is possible to check the fluid you pull out when it is cold, will get just about the exact amout. Remember, the fluid expands when it is hot, so put in a little less the the amount of fluid you measured when it is hot.

yea mobil 1 has a tranny fluid now with tes-295 standard. its typed on the bottle.

you can buy it direct from AV LUBRICANTS under vendors on this site

just checking.... is it 7-8 qts with a 5 speed ally too or is it less then the 6 speed
