When Mama JJ and I purchased her, err I mean our truck back in June 04 it was a very happy moment. :) The truck had incredible power and was staged to pull me and Mama JJ and our 5ver around the country. Expensive yes, but we had the dealer put all the options on it we wanted and threw that in the deal to avoid buying them later. We were both VERY HAPPY with the stock LLY. :)

Then in September I was cruising the internet looking at various diesel sites and somehow found myself on "The Diesel Place" website. Interesting reading, the guys provided a lot of valuable information, and there was a lot of useful information that I could use to maintain my truck. Friendly to! So I filled out their online form and joined this happy band of clean cut, 100% god fearing American diesel truck owners. Little did I know they had plans for us? :o I fear I'm not alone with the rest of my story?

It began with the little stuff, i.e. when to change fluids; what kind of oil to use; shocks; etc. The DP members provided a lot of assistance/direction to me since I am "meck-a-nickel-ally" challenged. Turns out this is their "MO"! They befriend you with advice, then pursuade you to buy something small like an air filter, shocks or something similar knowing all along they are going to drain your wallet later on. Sound familiar to anyone else out there?

First I purchased a Unifoam filter from one of their so-called "DP Vendors". These are just the distributors, not the pushers. Next I purchased a set of Rancho RS9000 shocks with in-cab controller, the DP boys convinced me the OEM's were a piece of crap. I wonder just how much of a "kick-back" they got on that? Now I was finally done, OR SO I THOUGHT? ):h

Somehow they lured me onto their "Power and Performance" site, this is where they sell the hard stuff. I was perfectly happy with my HP/TQ, the truck pulled my 5ver just fine, I WAS HAPPY! Turns out this is where they do the most damage. ):h It appears the way they operate is to provide you with some little piece of information to "make your truck run better". In my case it was diesel additives. I never planned on using them, my owners manual says I don't need to, but somehow they pursuaded me to start using it. This was the beginning of my addiction. I don't recall which pusher got me: McRat, DP, MP2, TxChristopher??? But they are all the same with one thing on their mind: ADDICTING PEOPLE TO MORE POWER!!!!

I'm afraid this was the beginning of the end for me. They convinced me I needed an aftermarket programmer/tune so the E/J with attitude went in last week. So I set it to level 1, just to try it! OH MY GOD! Ooooooohhhh, the rush, the pulsation of my foot on the pedal, sorta like someone gave me a hit of speed or something! ):h The power is addictive, but what it makes you do to other drivers on the road is scary???? Silverado SS pulls up next to me, revs his engine, my hand strokes the attitude. Come to daddy, power level 2 should do the trick! BYE BYE SS. :ro)

But there are 3 more power levels I can't touch without buying more of their stuff: bigger exhaust, tranny upgrade, high flow air filters, water injection systems, etc. Mama JJ wants a hot tub, JJ's looking at exhaust! ):h Looks like hard times ahead! Dang DP! ):h

I'm posting this with the hope that other unsuspecting soles like myself don't get addicted to the awesome power these trucks are able to produce. I tried to cancel my DP account but got the shakes! Doctors are miffed! Guess I'm in for the long haul. If I can help just one person not to get addicted like I did this post has been worth it.

Hmmm, I need a fix, got to go for a drive. Later. JJ :)

I know what you mean.....I was just surfing the net looking for options for a tool box / aux fuel tank and ran into "The Diesel Place"....so far I haved not got my tool/tank, but I do have a juice/attitude installed! ):h ....now after reading the many posts it appears that when I put in the aux tank I also want additional filters and a lift pump  , not sure where this will stop for me now!

Enjoying the heck out of it!

I'm one of those who bought a diesel specifically for performance. I wanted a fast truck, but the Lightning, SS Silverado, and SRT-10 weren't "truck" enough for me.

After doing a bit of research, a diesel seemed to fit the bill, and so far it has proven to be correct.

The answer is M O R E POWER is a GOOD thing!!:D :D :D :D

If we all had only known what we were getting into when we signed onto the DP site! ):h Maybe they should post some kind of a disclaimer when you sign up that participation on this site can, and most likely will: monopolize much of your time; cause significant others to question who/what you love most; have you sporting a "diesel chubby" while driving; seriously kick your finances in the ass; and have you driving like a teenager again! :D

Brutis, each of us has to deal with their diesel addiction in their own way. I find driving in level 2 temporarily relieves my symptoms, that is until I can go to level 3,4,5... AAAAAAhhhhhhhhh! OOOOOOOhhhhhhh the pain!! EEEEEwwww, the pain! JJ's out, again! :)

I thought you all wore "long johns" up there Juice?????

I know the feeling of the addiction. I have hours of homework that i need to do but i find myself sitting on the computer either reading posts or talk to other members!! Do I have my priorities in order?? I think was got me hooked was when I first saw Tomac pull in Stanford, KY. Then out of curiosity I visited his website....big mistake!! After watching a couple videos, I was hooked. Oh well, guess it could be worse...I could be on lucky number "5", eh Juice?

Guys,

Like some addicts.. some have an detox time.. they get either ordered after getting a dui.. (that still applies here) or voluntary going in... ...

Does that mean we would have to drive a gasser again?????

Now we really have an issue ….

I started with a regular juice box. I set it to level 1 to train the trany and thought holy:eek: !!! This is way more power than I need. No way will I want more than 90hp......that lasted about a week......Upgraded trans and on to the 125 juice/attitude. Well this is nice(happy for about a day) Then got the hot juice(happy for the ride home) Now I'm borded with the TTS. I took a bud for a ride and asked him if I was nuts or if she didnt seem to pull as hard(I didnt know if i was nuts, there was an issue, or it was the brick in the bed and the fact I was weighing around 8k) He told me I was nuts.

Since i duno if it will ever be fast enough I may just be wise to sell off all my performance goodies and run it stock. Keep myself outa trouble that way. Then i can get back to building my Chevelle. I wont stop till it scares me:D

Well the E/J w/attitude has been in for a couple of weeks now. I usually run it on level 1, sometimes 2, depending upon the traffic. The other day I was accelerating up to 55mph when leaving work, the engine must have reached just the right temp for the E/J cause all of a sudden it was like someone shot me out of a cannon. :ro) Am I the only one eyeing other trucks and mentally "nailing them" to the pavement? :o: What's next???

Momma was worried that after I turned the big 5-0 that I may revert to the 2nd childhood. I assured her that if I ever bought a diesel truck she would be assured that the "change of life" could be avoided. uh-huh. Like that happened!! Aint a better feelin than jammin the foot down and blowing the doors off the kids in their "hotrods".

I took my youngest grandson for a ride the other day. Bad move. He's 7 and had all kinds of stories to tell grandma when we got home. Jeez, I hope to never live long enough to get this out of my system, cuz this is better that all the drugs of the '60s or 70's combined!!
