whats the diffrents

i know one gos to 160 hp and the other 225 hp
with the 225 hp can i M shift and hold the rpms higher
can my stock trans hold 225 hp

Most people say that the ally is only good for 90 over stock. Some say that they run higher tunes and no problems. Some say they run a lower tune and they report problems. I think it is all about your driving style

Driving style has allot to do with it, but you should at least have install a transgo jr. if your going to run the 225 tune.

I actually droped some ET by shifting (M) @ 3,600rpm with my stock trans. I tried to do the same once I had the trans built and went slower (It hung up on the 3-4 shift)-FWIW.

so im thinking im going to go with the 160 hp tune but for 90 buck more i can get the 225 hp tune im confused lol

so 160 at the flywheel what is that at the rewheels

Get the ppe standard that goes to 225 its worth it i think. I have been running my truck on 225 for 10000 miles and it never limped till I pulled 10k without turning the programmer down. Driving empty I beat teh schit out of it everyday and no problems yet but the tranny will go sooner or later, but I dont really care if it goes as it is going to get built this summer. Get the standard and a transgo jr and drive decent and it should be good for awhile.

Get the 425 ET.........then your done! You will use 350 if you ever get a tranny built. That setting will be your daily driver........

Thats what i got also.Went for a 400 mile cruise today,set on level 4,and averaged 19.7 hand calculated mpg.Not Bad for a c/c Dually.IMO
