Well took my truck in Monday after all the parts finally came in. Truck acted like low oil/ no oil at start up. Range shift inhibited,P0751, P0756, P0762, P0843, P0848, P0873, P0877 After it got going worked & shifted great for the rest of the day till the next day and the same thing all over again. Dealer replaced my Valve body:mad: Internal mode switch and pressure manifold switch per Gm Technical service. I had an ongoing tac case #10022465 from the first dealer. I could of taken it to 10 dealers and none of them would even look at the tranny. thats all they look at are codes. the repair man called me later that day and wondered what after market filter I had on. Its an allison deep pan, allison deep pan filter and filter lock. He said it has to go back to original to cover it under warranty. I didn't think he liked the suncoast stamp on the lock. So I had to buy a shallow pan $70 + $22 over night it. I could go on but the thing that got me was he said thats all what was wrong was the internal filter was to sloppy.:wtf1:This was afer he already replaced the valve body and my deep pan filter kept falling off the new VB. I had some good replies from other threads and one was to check my internal filter. So has anyone seen this befor with a suncoast filter lock on? $25 and little time could of saved me $600

Well I'am a newb here so nothing to comment on other than the fact I just had the mag hytech deep tranny pan and diff cover installed. Your saying a filter on it went bad or caused a problem with the shifting?

I don't like the filter supplied by Mag. I have had problems with the seal sucking air badly. If you look at the bag it comes in " made in china " is stamped on it. I replace them with oem Allison filters.

maybe he forgot to swap the orange seal for the filter that gets stuck in the valve body to the new valve body.

I almost had the exact same problem after installing a JR kit and an Allison standard pan (deep to you and me). As soon as i fired it up i got the "Shift Range Inhibited" in the display-WTF! I was totally miffed, so i took it all apart (VB and JR valves) started over. When i put the pan on again i paid real attention to the install of the internal filter. i noticed the filter lock actually pushed the filter enough to cause the thing to dislodge from the VB bore. i simply pushed it back to straighten it out and square it up in the bore. poured the fluid back in a walla, everything worked perfect. I got the allison pan and filter kit form Merchant. Fast service, factory filters too, the lock just pushed it out once tight.

Ramblin - sounds to me that it was a filter problem from the start? Seems like they replaced parts for no reason other than to make money under the warranty.
