: Run Synthetic or Not!
My dad just bought a 06 LLY truck that has 70,000 on the clock and is wanting to switch over to Amsoil Syntec, would it be okay to do that with 70,000 miles? I told him i wouldn't think it would hurt anything, but wanted to get some feedback and see if anyone has ran syntec with that many miles and if they have had any problems?
Thanks guys Chad
dentman4054 03-19-2008, 07:47 PM the more synthetic the better, and 70K isnt that many miles for a D or gasser :)

Heath 03-19-2008, 09:18 PM Never too late. As long as it's currently mechanically sound, no problems.
DirtyMax58 03-19-2008, 09:19 PM im getting ready to do the same. any suggestions on the fluids? has too be CJ-4 oil for me (LMM) but what about the diffs and everything?
DirtyMax58 03-19-2008, 09:19 PM and yes, Heath, you're still at the top of my list. just lookin for suggestions
Heath 03-19-2008, 09:28 PM Ya, the diffs should be done sooner than later. If I didn't have amsoil, mobil 1 would be in there.
Tranny and tcase can wait a while unless you just want the synthetic in there.
dnewton3 03-20-2008, 06:37 AM OP: no problem switching over to "synthetics" now, sooner, later, or never.
BTW: Heath, that's what I like about you. Clearly you have a preference, as a vendor of Amsoil. But you are at least open-minded and willing to offer fair advice, even when concerning the competition. Amsoil makes great products; but they don't make sense for all people for all applications.

Agreed. Amsoil gets a bad rap, mainly due to the reps out there that where clown shoes.
Heath where's regular shoes thankfully :D
