:DSince we are having to pay so much for diesel;doesn't anyone else think that it should be cleaner. Because all I read about on here is how a dirty fuel filter can cause problems and how much they cost. You would think that they would make the diesel much cleaner since it is costing an arm and leg.:(

Its more of were you get your diesel if it has crap in it (like dirt or rust). Most of it comes from the tank at the fuel pump at the store. And yes you would think it would be better but gas is the same way.

Anyone have any idea on what micron filter the service stations use before the diesel hits the nozzle?

I try to go after a few day when I know they just filled up. I know the two stations that I go to and they'll tell me NOT TODAY. when they fill the tanks it stirs up a bunch of crap.
Why would they filter more? They are making bank without doing it!!!!!!!

True And the filters that the stations prolly get change every year or so and are dirty as crap too.

Gas stations probably have a 100 micron or larger filter. Think about big rig stations that pump mega gallons in a day. They probably by-pass the filters on their pumps. The faster they pump fuel, the more semi's they can get in & out...

I get my fuel at a truck stop and they have a huge filter on the pump. I notice I get better mileage when I fill up there compared to the other truck stops or gas stations that don't have filters on their pump.
