You could buy 3 on ebay for that amount. Just make sure you find one so you don't get hurt.

Did mine with a c clamp. Make sure you have a beast of a c clamp though. Mine was huge and it bent it during my lift install, it was kinda scary. It worked though, and I have now done 6 or 7 sets this way.

I used a pipe wrench to load and load my t-bars when I installed my Fabtech.

Also, I found out while installing my lift, if you buy a quality BIG C-clamp you could grind the pivoting pad off the adjustable screw arm it would leave a ball that would fit perfectly in the small "divot" on the torsion bar key. If I was to install another lift or if I ever remove mine this is what I will do.

Has anyone ever tried using a two-arm gear puller? I read somewhere that this could be done.

I have done it with a gear puller(hard on the puller and the crossmember), and a c-clamp(really hard on the clamp and maybe you!) in the past. Do yourself a favor, buy the tool. You can always resell it or rent it out locally yourself.

I purchased mine on ebay for like $75 shipped. Tried a 2-jaw gear puller on my first lift and it was bending the lip of the crossmember down, so then I used a large c-clamp with the swivel pad removed and while it did work it probably isn't the safest method. I have done two lifts with the torsion bar tool and there is nothing like having the right tool for the job...much safer!
