I'm runnin a completely stock truck with the exception of a Predator. In the 85hp setting, my EGT's sky rocket outta sight. 1500+ the most boost my SPA has ever recorded is 21lbs. The other day I was towing about 7500lbs, I couldn't use more than about 1/2 -2/3 throttle because of the EGT's. The turbo would be spooled up to mid teens and the EGT would already be at 1450. Obviously if my turbo was blowin up around 25, the EGT wouldn't be near as high.
Is there a problem with my turbo? Could it have anything to do with my EGR being unplugged (no plates yet)?
Thanks!!!!

Sounds like there is something wrong with your turbo. Can you get it to act up stock? I think you might have a hard time convincing a dealer that there is a problem.
It shouldn't be related to your egr. You can always plug it back in and see if it behaves differently.

What altitude are u at when this happens?

Thanks Max, stock what should I see for boost? I am up around 5,000' but I would think the winter air would help. When I was running the Juice w/attitude, the highest I ever saw was about 22-23.

The only thing I see is that you were towing a 7500 lbs trailer while on the 85hp setting with the predator and everything else is bone stock. Your predator doesn't recommend any towing in the 85 and 100 hp settings. In the 65 hp setting, you can tow up to 8000 lbs and do normal towing in the 40hp setting.
Try setting your predator to the 65 hp setting and try towing again. See if it acts the same way.

#1 releave your back pressure. High altitude, big tunes, towing, and high back pressure are a bad combination.

I understand big tunes high EGT etc.... What I'm concerned about is the low amount of boost my turbo is building. I certainly don't expect to hook up to 10k and run wide open throttle all day long on 85hp setting and keep the egt's low. But I do expect to see more than the mid teens for turbo pressure based on reading several others that say they hit in the high 20's.
Any ideas????

You need to have someone with a Tech II ride along with you.
Look at commanded turbo vane position. Perhaps the ECM is not commanding full boost. If it is, you might have a problem with the turbo.
If it is not commanding full boost, it's in the tuning.
The highest altitude I've tested the Predator at is 4000, I did not encounter any problems.
The highest altitude I've tested the TTS Tow is 7000 and it performed flawlessly at 17,000lb combined weight.

Untill you reduce the backpressure, you can not produce higher boost without the EGT's going way high. Remember, burning that much more fuel generates a huge volume of exhaust. You have to give it somewhere to go.
IMO, there is nothing wrong with yout turbo.

So you guys that are hitting in the high 20's all have different exhaust? If that's all I need, no problem.
