Hey all, I just wanted to drop a post and let everyone know the fuel increases I have seen since the PPE program was installed in my truck.
From stock I have had horrible fuel milage, at best 14 mpg. I installed a roll cover for the box and seen a very small increase in fuel milage. I now have 130,000 km on the truck and installed a 4" turbo back. I again seen a small increase and the max I seen was 15 mpg. So I went ahead and had the PPE programmer installed on the second tune and wow, immediatly the electronic fuel counter told me I was getting 20 mpg. Since then I have switched to Esso low sulfer fuel and now consistantly see 21-22 mpg at 60-70 mph.
Now here is a thought for everyone. I will now for the first time manually calculate my fuel milage to see if the tuner really improves the fuel milage by 5-6 mpg as I have the thought that the tuner may just manipulate the electric counter and just show the higher number.
Next question, with the increases that are seen on tune 2, what do you think will happen if I change to tune 1 under the same driving conditions?

Whenever you add a tune to your ecm, your computers mileage calculation becomes in-accurate because of how the factors it uses to calculate it. However usually with each higher tune you will recieve progressively higher mileage. I have the banks 6 gun on my truck and I get much better mileage on the 80hp setting than the 40hp. Hope this helps,
Good luck with your $4 / gallon crisis

How did your mileage change when you added the nittos? I have heard they are extremely soft compound tires and eat mileage, as well as wear very quickly.

Your dic will be off due to the change in timing and pulsewidth in the tune, this is not done by the company on purpose. As far as level 1, I got my worst mileage on this setting and my best on level 6.
