Yesterday morning I seen the DIY thread on the high idle.I went down to the store and bought the parts required for the install, 17 bucks. I went home and installed it, it works awsome 1250 and 1800 rpms. It took about an hour and a half to install. The stealer wanted 200 bucks for this. Thank you very much gentleman for the info and saveing me some money. Roy

Deadeye,
Are you sure you don't have a wire that is possibly loose, and making partial contact?
I have not had any problems with mine since I hooked it up this year.

I need to check the entire system but since I have not had a day off this year I have not had time to do it. But thanks for the advice. That is probably the problem. :iamlost:

it is probably the scotchlock connector if you are using this. I had the same problem

trying to figure this link out but do a google search on scotchlok if it doesnt

it is a connector fo joining an existing wire and the end of another wire with an insulation displaced "crimp"

My truck was having the same problem -- sometimes it would work, other times not. We had it apart again to install the overdrive lockout switch (which worked w/out a reflash:ro) ) and soldered where the scotchlock was. I should've known better than to use a scotchlockit in the first place!

ski1;

thanks. I have used these on my truck but don't remember if I did for the Hi Idle. In any case, this is the only kind of connector that I would not have soldered. When I get some time I will check it out. Thanks again.

Power Max;

I got your Cloud Rider this weekend and it is on and workin well !!!

However, though I removed the scotch locks and soldered nothin has changed. Guess I will have to pull it out an do a re-install. . . .but not til after the dyno day...

Swift, you need a pin connector to connect to the ECM, about 6' of 22g. wire (more than enough), and some split loom to run it through. I got mine in kit form from Eric- DMAXALLITECH last week for a 10 spot. I figured that was as easy as me going down and hunting the right size connector and having to get more wire than I'll ever need, etc etc. Goes in EZ and works as promised. L8R

I installed the high-idle modification a couple weeks ago. Used the scotchlock. Works great so far but the test is on going. Got the P/N for the socket from the High Idle thread in the do it yourself section. This is a great feature. I did some digging into the schematics. The green/white wire is a great circuit to tie into. The fuse size is the same as the PTO system and the signal on the green/white wire goes away when the shifter is moved out of Park or Neutral and is interrupted when the brake peddle is pressed.
