Hi All,

I have a mystery switch to the right of the overdrive switch. It has wires coming out but I don’t know where they go and no idea what it is used for. BTW, the silver button is for my air horns.

Also looking for a 2005 owner’s manual. Do any of you have one they want to sell cheap before I have to go to the dealer?

Thanks, Matt

That one is for the clearance lights for flashing truckers when they want to change lanes.

the one next to the overdrive button is the cargo light switch you can turn it on when in park to light the bed area at least that is on mine!

That is what I thought it was for but does not work on my bed light. Is there a fuse?

The cargo light is wired strangly on these, it will only work when the truck is running, try it that way and see what happens.

Okay, I tried it but still no go. I have removed the DRL #15 fuse. Is that fuse related to the bed light? I crawled underneath the truck and all wires seem to be intact. Any other Ideas on what to look for?

turn the light on, go take the bulb out of socket and use well grounded current tester for power in the light socket itself and then diagnose the problem back from there. it is esiest to solve electrical problems backwards. and do the most obvious soultions fisrt such as replacing a burnt out bulb. then if it has no current, check all wiring, then fuses...ect. hope this helps.

This is what I'm going to have to do. Do you know what # fuse it is?

Well, I figured out the mystery switch today. I started at the back light and when I unplugged the harness to see if it had power I noticed that the prongs on the light plug were missing. Not missing but the plastic part of the plug had slid forward and the prongs were not poking out. Slid the plastic back into place, connected the harness plug in, and presto it worked! You can now just turn it on or off with the switch at any time.

So, my question now is were you pulling my leg? “it will only work when the truck is running, running with ebrake on and in park, putting your interior lights on first”. I was waiting for someone to say, after all that, jump up and down on one foot while sticking your finger in the cigarette lighter and your sure to light up. J
