I was looking at my engine today to see if a manifold had been taped already for a pyro and I found a wire coming from the turbo to some module down by the side of the engine. It looks to me like its kinda out of place. It is the white wire in the photos.

I think that's what senses your boost presure for the VVT. It's white b/c it's heat wraped. It's in the right spot and does belong though, mine has it too!

Alright cool. It just kinda looks outta place to me. If that is for reading boost pressure then shouldnt you be able to get a boost rating from that?

Yep X2. boost is in the manifold IIRC

That's what I meant, I just didn't explain clearly. I was under the assumption that it basically took the place of the wastegate actuator, thus telling the computer when it's reached ample boost perssure to relieve it through the exhaust.....make sense???? Please correct me if I'm wrong-now I'm curious :).

X2, this is the vane position sensor, Tells the ECM what position the vanes in the turbo are at.
