I got the dreaded LLY 2000 rpm symptom this evening which I wasn't surprised because others have had this. I have less than 12,000 miles on it, I just changed the fuel filter about 1,500 miles ago and I am 300 miles from home. So far I have drove it 50 miles in this condition and made it to my destination for the evening so it is now shut off. Two questions: Can I keep driving it this way or will I be hurting something if I do? Second, I live in Minneapolis and I am in Stevens Point, WI, does any one know of a dealer that is close and is open on Saturday's? I am thinking it is the Engine wire harness...The outside temp was 22 degrees and I run the FPPF additive from Kennedy...

Sounds like you "Limped" the tranny, have you tried a restart on it yet ?

You know when this happened I just got done hammering on it as I was merging with traffic. Would I have gotten a message on the DIC? If I did this it would be the first time I think any one reports Limping the tranny on the 65hp setting with the predator if I am not mistaken...no I have not restarted the truck since I have shut it off.

I just went out and started the truck and took it for a drive, everything seems good as far as I could tell. Could I have "limped" the tranny on the 65hp setting from the predator? I was not towing or hauling anything...being it was colder out (22 degrees) and the tranny temp was just reading a little over 100 degrees, could that make the tranny limp when it is colder?

Here are the codes I read with the predator before I drove it again.
DTC All
P0381 Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit Malfunction
P1093 Unknown Fault

DTC NotRan
P1637 Generator-L-Terminal Circuit
P2066 Unknown Fault
P2067 Unknown Fault
P2068 Unknown Fault
P2636 Unknown Fault
Nd099

Not sure what all of these mean but I have heard about the P1093 before. Should I be alarmed?

You didnt limp the tranny you limped the engine

engine limp 2000 RPM max
Tranny limp 55 MPH max

The P1093 is caused by the Predator, and is responsible for the 2000 Limp. You can reset it using the Predator while you are driving even.

IIRC, you can shut the truck off and restart it to clear it as well.

It is a low fuel pressure error, and it is not unique to the Predator.

Those other codes could be caused by reprogramming without pulling the correct fuses.

CLEAR DTC ALL, and see what's up.

I do know that the P1093 is easier to set with a dirty fuel filter as well.

I have an 05 duramax, It did the 2000 rpm thing bone stock "no programmers" at around 500 miles. The only code was low fuel pressure. The dealer suggested a programmer might fix this. "???" So ok, called bully dog and installed there programmer. Shortly there after the same thing. It will clear and run fine after a restart. Both times I was pulling a small cattle trailer with a light load, not hammering on it.

Because it did this in stock form, I cant see where anything would have gone to limp mode. Going back to the dealer on Monday. Just wanted to get some feedback before I get to the dealer. Thanks for any help. Joe

Thanks for the replies. I have cleared the codes so we will see how things go from here. I did change the fuel filter about 1500 miles ago so I would think that would be ok. I will say I had 10,000 miles on the first one and didn't have any trouble...ironic

is this problem engine related or tranny limp ? i know it was discussed earlier in this thread but IIRC the tranny limp mode will do the same thing in regards to rpm's ??

Well back from the dealer, no codes this time. The dealer told me to keep driving til it does this again, and not to restart. Try to keep going to see if the check engine light comes on, then back to the dealer. So I'm going to put it back to stock program and run it awhile, and see what happens.

When mine happened I drove it for 50 miles without stopping and the Service Engine light never came on which I was surprised it didn't

I live about 25 miles from my dealer, if I am anywhere close the next time I have this problem thats where I'll be headed. Love the truck though. My first diesel, never thought just software could make that much difference.
