all three are priced about the same at my local walmart and wanted to know if anyone has anything good or bad to say on either of these oils.
I have always had a local guy do my oil change with rotella but he retired and I now have a garage to work in so I thought I would start doing it myself.
I know this is a very broad question just looking for some info
by the way its all right about 9.50 a gallon
thanks
Jared
You are right about this subject, it has been discussed many times on here. If you don't get an answer then do a search and you can read for days about motor oil. Don't know much about tection extra, but I have heard alot of good stuff about Rotella and Delo, along with Mobile One Delvac. I have been using the Shell Rotella 15W40 and so far so good. You probably can't go wrond with any of those dino oils. There are good synthetic oils on the market, but its up to you to weigh out your options to see if its right for you. Motor oil is like anything else, ever person has their favorite and if it works good for them then thats what counts.

I have used Rotella in the past. I'm now using Delo 400 After seeing a friends truck use no oil and stay clearer longer. The main thing is pick a brand and stay with it. Also avoid Fram filters, buy Delco(pf2232) or Mobil 1 (M1-303)for example.

Any of those three mentioned will be a fine job; they are quality products.
As far as use, you can mix and match the three brands. Buy what's on sale each time, if that makes you happy.
I would only caution you on the following. If you're planning on doing used oil analysis, then pick one brand and stick with it. You'll get more consistent UOA's. Mixing oil brands DOES NOT hurt the engine at all, but the small changes in chemistry from brand to brand does slightly skew the results of a UOA.
Found this off chevrons website. Sounds like it is just there newest version of delo 15W40, but made just for the new motors. http://www.chevronlubricants.com/resources/pds298288781.pdf
