Has anyone heard of this yet? it is a electonic dipstick for oil, it will tell you condition of oil just like an analysis would. Kind of interesting read.intellistick .com.

Looks like a fun "gadget" to play with. Not sure if I would solely rely on it though. I don't have enough technical knowledge to know if conductance is a good enough indicator of the condition of engine oil.

A UOA is done by spectral analysis. I rather doubt that "smart" dipstick is capable of such technology.

Yikes!! No way does it perform the same readings of a spectrometer. Interesting 'gadget' though.

i know this is an old thread but i have been thinking it would be cool to run in conjunction with an oil centerfuge. in no way is this thing suppose to do what a spectrometer does but it can still give you good info about your oil

It's in this months issue of diesel power mag.... nothing common sense won't take care of....
